At JNJ Community Support Services, we work alongside you to understand your goals, priorities and preferences. We can help you explore your options, coordinate your supports and understand how different services can work together.

You remain in control of your decisions at every stage. We will provide information, explain available options and help you compare providers, but the final choices about your supports and who delivers them are always yours.

Support Coordination is separate from plan management. We can help you understand your support budgets and monitor how your supports are working, but we do not manage your NDIS funding or pay provider invoices.

We can help you identify and compare NDIS providers, community services and mainstream supports that may suit your needs, preferences and goals. You decide which providers you want to contact, trial or engage.

Coordinating Supports and Service Agreements

We can help you bring your supports together, communicate with providers and understand service agreements before you enter into them. This may include helping you establish new services, coordinate multiple providers or address gaps in your current supports.

Building Confidence and Preparing for Change

Support Coordination is also about helping you build the skills and confidence to direct your own supports. We can help you monitor whether services are meeting your needs, prepare for unexpected changes and explore other options when a support is no longer working for you.

What does a support coordinator do?

A support coordinator helps you understand and use your NDIS plan, connect with providers and other services, coordinate your supports and build your confidence in managing them. Their role is to provide information and practical assistance so you can make your own decisions and work towards your goals.

Can a support coordinator help me find suitable providers?

Yes. A support coordinator can help you identify and compare providers based on your goals, needs, preferences and the funding available in your plan. They may also help you ask questions, understand service agreements and consider alternative providers if a service is not meeting your needs. You retain choice and control over which providers you use.

Does a support coordinator manage my NDIS funding or pay provider invoices?

No. Support Coordination and plan management are different services. A support coordinator can help you understand your support budgets, monitor how your supports are being used and plan services within the available funding. However, provider invoices are paid by you or your nominee, a registered plan manager or the NDIA, depending on how your plan funding is managed.

Does Support Coordination need to be included in my NDIS plan?

Yes. To pay for Support Coordination using your NDIS funding, the service must be funded in your plan. If it is not currently included and you believe you would benefit from it, you can speak with your my NDIS contact about your circumstances and available options.
